The STIMEL-03 is a device designed to aid stroke patients during the rehabilitation stage following a stroke. The STIMEL-03 combines the advantages of the EMG abilities to record electric activity that reflects muscle tension from paralyzed patients after stroke, with the patient's potential ability to influence functions of his body- Biofeedback. The system measures the patients EMG as a reference and a higher level of a stimulus that causes movement is activated. To improve patient's performance, a real time display shows the patient his EMG signal, and its relation to a predefined threshold. This feedback mechanism provides a significant added value to the suggested system.
